Eva María Ibarguren (later Eva María Duarte) played many roles in her relatively short life. Shortly after the mass demonstrations in Buenos Aires [17 October 1945], she married Colonel Juan Domingo Perón. The former actress and radio personality took on a “new role” as Eva Perón and Evita. Her transformation was gradual. In the “New Argentina,” she had the opportunity to re-invent herself doing social works and political activism.

Discuss her political role in the context of the “New Argentina” and Juan Domingo Perón’s political movement in the years she became more powerful, between 1947 and 1950.
